Chapter Three: How to Use the Secret, page 45

I like to think of it as “The Parable of Aladdin”: Aladdin is us. The Genie is God. The Lamp is the Word.
“Your wish is my command!” equals “With God nothing is impossible”
“Ask, believe, receive” Maybe this is a story from the Ancient Word?

We might question this and say, “But the Genie refers to Aladdin as ‘Master,’ but God doesn’t refer to us as ‘Master!’” But then think about this quote: “Even I, the Son of Man, came here not to be served but to serve others, and to give my life as a ransom for many.” (Matt 20:28)

The Genie is the Law of Attraction... or we might say, God is Love.
He is always present, always listening.
Sometimes the genie grants wishes that don’t seem to be good. Be careful what you wish (pray) for, it just might come true. We do have freedom of choice.

“The genie immediately begins to leverage the Universe, through people, circumstances, and events, to fulfill your wish.” This makes me think of the helicopter rescue story:
A man was caught in a flood. He was finally forced to the roof of his house. From on his roof he prayed to God to save him. Soon after that, a man in a canoe came by and offered him a ride. The man of the roof politely refused, and said that he was waiting for God to save him. Next came a man in a motor boat, and then a helicopter. He refused both. He eventually drowned and went to the spiritual world. Once he was there he asked God, “Why did you save me?” And God answered, “Who do you think sent the canoe, the boat, and the helicopter?”

If we’re not paying attention, we can miss it when God answers our prayers. And we may even be stubborn enough to reject good and true things that others offer to us because they don’t bear the mark of God (Such as the book “The Secret”!)
