Section Two: Think Thoughts of Perfection, page 130

“But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect.” (Matt 5:48)

Instead of thinking about getting older, think about getting wiser, getting ready for heaven.
Look to the good in all aspects of life. Thank the Lord for the health that you have. Don’t take it for granted. Don’t wait until you’re sick to start praying.

You may ask, “What about people who caught a disease, and yet were amazingly positive people. They were just unlucky?” What about epidemics, food poisoning, plagues? The hard answer to that is: this world is kept in a state of freedom by the Lord; a state of equilibrium where good and evil are equally present, so that people may freely choose. Because of that protection of our freedom, bad things can happen to good people. But as Gandalf says in the Lord of the Rings movie: “All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.”

The Lord wants us to be happy... so let’s cooperate with Him. Let’s meet him half way and try BEING happy.

Let God worry about HOW. Let go and let God.
